Not what I was told.

I was coming home from Santa Fe and decided on lunch in Pecos @ Casa de Hererra when John calls me at tells me that one of our gas hoses was cut and leaking fuel all over the place. Dammit, there goes my lunch plan. I bypass the restaurant and head to the store with the thought of checking the video of the parking lot to try and figure out who did it, but when I got there and saw it I knew it was normal wear and tear of the hose. Someone drove over it one time to many and it split. 15 minutes to fix and the pump was up and running again.

THIS WEEKEND

The Red River Motorcycle Rally happens this weekend. After the shooting in Waco Texas, the rally is a place many are going to avoid. The Waco thing was a gang shooting, according to the Waco police, but it’s suspected that the police were the main aggressors there. Now the rumors are flying. The RRMR is the first and closest biker event with 20,000 bikers expecting to attend. The Banditos are planning on having their officer elections there and they were in Waco too. Nina and I were planning on attending, weather permitting.

HAH! HAH HAH!

A person I know, but don’t like, trust, or enjoy seeing just lost their job. This person WAS a person that I had to interact with in a position I hold that happens to be a volunteer position and if you wonder why I’m being vague, that person is very litigious. This person happens to cause normal people to be very uncomfortable in their presence, but I’ve always been nonplussed in dealing with that person which I think annoyed that person. I hate seeing anyone lose their job in this tough economy, but this person being canned is a very good thing.

Now, many of you may be aware of this termination, but if you need some details, call me. If you are that person, you deserve it. You came at me more than once and the last time was low, but I prevailed. I find it funny that you are gone. What I do will be more fun now that you are gone.

Rode a lot yesterday.

  • I went to Lowe’s to exchange something I bought the day before.
  • I went to SFH-D to meet the Old Fartz.
  • We drove to Ribs in Cedar Crest, a place that’s becoming a place I don’t want to go to for a while. We go there too often.
  • I went to visit Catherine at her new place. It’s cute, but it’s still not her. She’s got a lot of work ahead of her to make it home.
  • Arriving at home with 220 miles on the odometer and 6 hours of away time from the business. It was a good day.
  • My bike’s drink holder arrived yesterday and I’ll install it today. After that I’ll change out the ballast on a dead fluorescent fixture in the store. That’s what I got at Lowe’s.
  • Debra decided not to give ML her new pill. I may have to kill them both! Debra for not giving her the pill and ML for being ML. Freaky old bitch is fascinated with trying to tickle my feet as she’s wheeled by me heading for bed. I have to leave my shoes on until she’s gone but last night I forgot.
  • Carl, I’m not going to be able to make your party. I was hoping to make it, but it’s not to be.
  • Nan’s mother, Perry, passed away last night. She’s been suffering for a while and they had to put her in hospice. There’s not to be a service. Her body will be harvested for her organs to be used in the study of Alzheimers and they will cremate the remains and send them to René to hold for the family. Nice chat with Nan this morning. I miss her.

Peace.

Old Fartz Today

  • I have an Old Fartz lunch today. That doesn’t mean I will actually attend, life sometimes gets in the way.
  • Cloudy this morning, but it’s supposed to clear up some. As long as it’s not raining when I leave here, I’m riding to SF.
  • Nina mentioned last night that ML had another TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) or a mini stroke yesterday evening. She’s becoming more difficult and she will be in a home soon.
  • Nina starts work on that today. Whether it’s temporary or permanent will be up to Nina, but she’s taking a 10 break from ML as a start.
  • The Red River Motorcycle Rally starts tomorrow. We’re planning on going on Saturday. They predict that there’ll be 20,000 + bikes there for the weekend. If the chapter organizes a ride there, we may go on Sunday too.
  • Amarillo Texas for the last weekend of the month. The Big Texan is the destination and there’s a party that we may attend too. The party is thrown by a Texas HOG Chapter and it just coincides with our ride, so we were invited.
  • We’re also planning on stopping at Tripp’s Harley-Davidson on the way to the hotel. We’re staying at the Big Texan’s hotel.

Tuesday

  • Went to SF today. Hardware run.
  • Dinner with Nina at Harry’s Roadhouse.
  • Talked to Dennis, Joe and Catherine via phone.
  • ML may be headed to a nursing home soon. It may be respite care for a break for Nina or it may be permanent.
  • Either way, it will be nice not to look at her while watching TV. She’s sitting right in my line of sight.
  • New meds have kicked the shit outta her, but it was almost mandatory. Threats to the family, trying to get out of bed on her own when she’s supposed to be napping, and just plain inappropriate behavior.
  • Rained last night. HARD. For hours. My lot actually faired pretty well, but an early morning drive through the valley showed quite a bit of mud covered roadways.

LOST CHURCHES OF NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY!!!

When devastating hurricanes struck the east coast, even houses of worship were not spared. A local television station interviewed a woman from New York ‘s Harlem area and asked how the loss of churches in the area had affected their lives.

Without hesitation, the woman replied,“I don’t know ’bout all them other peoples, but we ain’t been to Churches in years. We gets our chicken from Popeye’s.” The look on the interviewer’s face was priceless.

graded the lot again

After all the rain we’ve been getting, my lot has taken a beating. I graded the lot on Wednesday or Thursday last week and I had to do it again this morning. Doing it in the dark is a bit weird, but I didn’t have to dodge any cars, which was very nice. I started at 4:15 and finished at 5:10. Less than an hour and that included an implement change.

We’re going to Harley-Davidson today. Big party there. Patricia Arquette and some other famous friends of Dennis Hopper will be there. I’m really not interested in meeting them, but I figured to get pics for the newsletter before they take off to Taos. We are not joining the Taos ride. This is all about the movie Easy Rider. Dennis Hopper was in the movie and is now dead. I have never seen Easy Rider. Weird, huh? If the day is nice, there could be hundreds of riders heading to Taos on this ride.
