Just a former garbageman living in New Mexico selling crap to tourists and locals alike.

Anyone up for some wind?

  • The weatherliar is talking about 60 m.p.h. winds for tonight and tomorrow. I’m thinking of staying home tomorrow rather than  fighting that crap in the shoebox I drive.
  • Of course since Tori is on the injured reserve list, I’m sure we’ll be pressed into picking up Erin.
  • Poor Tori, so fragile. She’s a delicate flower of a human. The slightest twist or bump or scrape sends her into an overdramatic fit of limping, whining, and tears. Poor Tori.
  • You know what I always say, “If she were a dog, I’d put her down.”
  • Going to Albuquerque this morning. My new phone is not getting signal in the morning and I can’t have that. I reboot the phone and it works great for the rest of the day, but if there’s an emergency, people call me on my cell and I hate missing those calls if service is not available.
  • I’m really enjoying my/Erin’s aquarium. There’s about 20 fish in a 33 gallon tank with 4 of them being quite large compared to the others. They’re 2 shark like catfish and 2 gouramis. I will be watching TV and eventually find myself watching the fish instead. It’s a very active tank and very calming to me.
  • Well, I better end this so I can format the following thing I found of FB. Funny shit!

Poker last night. Credit Card Terminal.

  • I won! It’s been a while since I could say that.
  • Our new credit card machine is up and running now. We take Apple pay and other mobile wallets now.
  • To the best of my knowledge, we are the first small business in San Miguel County to have this equipment.
  • By 10/15, all businesses that take credit cards will have to have this equipment or they will be 100% responsible for chargebacks. For us that would mean that we’d have to eat a tank of gas or a bag of groceries that were fraudulently charged to us, but we’re covered right now.
  • Outside card readers on the pumps need to be changed out by 10/17 and I hope we’re out of here by then. THAT upgrade would cost anywhere from $15,000 to $45,000, depending on how big we’d want to go. The smart move would be $45,000 for a new system including pumps and inside register. Our equipment will be 16 years old in 2017.
  • Damn, coffee is perfect in the morning!
  • If we sell this place, Nina has decided that we’re moving to Ferguson MO. Not sure why, but that’s what she said.
  • Did I mention that I won at poker last night?
  • I think I did so well because Jiminy was absent. I always thought that Ted was a jinx, but I may have been wrong.
  • Hard to believe that next week brings us Thanksgiving and Erin’s birthday. Both on the same day!
  • She has told me about 25 different presents that she wants me to buy for her. I don’t remember any of them. She expects all of them. Of course that’s the treatment she’s learned from the Dilia crowd. She points and they buy. Idiots.
Re-examine all that you have been told . . .
dismiss that which insults your soul.

The following present-day anti-terrorism measure is brilliant.

Maybe this would be the answer to terrorism in the skies! It’s hard to beat Israeli technology!

TEL AVIV, Israel –

The Israelis are developing an airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns
that come with full-body scanners.
It’s an armored booth you step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on your person.

Israel sees this as a win-win situation for everyone, with none of this crap about racial profiling.

It will also eliminate the costs of long and expensive trials.

You’re in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter, an announcement:

“Attention to all standby passengers, El Al is pleased to announce a seat available on flight 670 to London.
Shalom!”

BRILLIANT ??

Nice day

Went to lunch with the Old Fartz today. About 18 people attended and it was a fun meal. The fish tacos at Plaza Cafe South are killer! I doubt I’ve had better anywhere.

Stopped at Lithia to schedule an oil change and had a nice chat with the new car sales staff. Saw some nice ’15 Jeeps that they customized, but they lift them to high for my liking. I’ll be back there on Tuesday for my service.

Tomorrow we get our new credit card machine. More of a European style than what we see here, but it’s going to make us compliant for ’15’s new regs. I picked up a long ethernet cable to allow us to hook up to the internet. The customers will love the speed of card processing once it’s up and running.

I plan on getting the gas unit hooked up to the internet too. It will make closing easier for the reporting process and it will speed card authorization at the pump.
