The Gary John\u00adson pres\u00adi\u00adden\u00adtial cam\u00adpaign seems to be the Lib\u00ader\u00adtar\u00adian Party\u2019s best chance at win\u00adning the White House to date. That pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adity seems to have lots of peo\u00adple scared out of their minds. So let\u2019s take a look at some ways that a Lib\u00ader\u00adtar\u00adian ad\u00admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion would con\u00adduct busi\u00adness.
\nFirst, we need to un\u00adder\u00adstand that lib\u00ader\u00adtar\u00adi\u00adan\u00adism is all about the nonag\u00adgres\u00adsion prin\u00adci\u00adple: No one has the right to ini\u00adti\u00adate force or fraud against
\nany\u00adone else, nor to threaten or del\u00ade\u00adgate that ini\u00adti\u00ada\u00adtion. No ex\u00adcep\u00adtions will be granted \u201cun\u00adder color of law.\u201d Also un\u00adder\u00adstand that we\u2019re not look\u00ading to be Mitt Rom\u00adney\/Ge\u00adorge W. Bush Repub\u00adli\u00adcans with an \u201cL\u201d af\u00adter our names. If we had wanted that, we would sim\u00adply cut to the chase and sign up as Democrats. With that in mind, here are some ex\u00adam\u00adples of the poli\u00adcies that our prospec\u00adtive Lib\u00ader\u00adtar\u00adian ad\u00admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion will un\u00adder\u00adtake:
\nFirst, a Lib\u00ader\u00adtar\u00adian ad\u00admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion would not seek to ex\u00adpand the size, in\u00adtru\u00adsive\u00adness or ex\u00adpense of gov\u00adern\u00adment by one iota, on any is\u00adsue. We\u2019re not look\u00ading to grow the fed\u00aderal gov\u00adern\u00adment \u2014 not by 2 per\u00adcent, much less the 10 per\u00adcent or 20 per\u00adcent that a Hil\u00adlary Clin\u00adton or Don\u00adald Trump ad\u00admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion would at\u00adtempt. At worst, we will freeze it where it\u2019s at when we take the reins. The 2017 bud\u00adget that we re\u00adceive on Jan. 21 would be the bud\u00adget for 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
\nNo, we\u2019re not look\u00ading to ex\u00adpand the wel\u00adfare state one bit. Nor are we look\u00ading to cre\u00adate more reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtions upon busi\u00adness or your per\u00adsonal life. Those reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtions sti\u00adfle cre\u00adativ\u00adity, growth and eco\u00adnomic progress.
\nSe\u00adcond, the White House will be\u00adcome a par\u00addon fac\u00adtory. All of the peo\u00adple in prison solely for fed\u00ader\u00adally man\u00addated vic\u00adtim\u00adless crimes \u2014 saw\u00ading off a shot\u00adgun bar\u00adrel, hav\u00ading more than a cer\u00adtain amount of mar\u00adi\u00adjuana, drain\u00ading a pud\u00addle on their own prop\u00aderty \u2014 will be par\u00addoned, be\u00adcause they didn\u2019t re\u00adally do any\u00adthing wrong.
\nThird, we\u2019re go\u00ading to stop putting peo\u00adple in prison in the first place for those vic\u00adtim\u00adless crimes \u2014 af\u00adter Pres\u00adi\u00addent Barack Obama de\u00adcided that he can pick and choose which parts of \u201cOba\u00admacare\u201d he can en\u00adforce, we can choose not to en\u00adforce the vic\u00adtim\u00adless crime laws, as well \u2014 and we\u2019re go\u00ading to call for the re\u00adpeal of those laws.
\nFourth, we\u2019re go\u00ading to dras\u00adti\u00adcally re\u00adduce taxes, if we
\ncan\u2019t wipe them out com\u00adpletely. This idea that we\u2019re go\u00ading to set\u00adtle for a 25 to 0 per\u00adcent na\u00adtional sales tax is non\u00adsense. If we\u2019re go\u00ading to com\u00adpro\u00admise on a tax rate, it will be more like 5 per\u00adcent, and dis\u00adre\u00adgard that \u201crev\u00adenue neu\u00adtral\u00adity\u201d hog\u00adwash \u2014 that\u2019s just pun\u00addit\u00ads\u00adpeak for \u201cWe don\u2019t re\u00adally have to cut spend\u00ading.\u201d
\nFifth, we\u2019re look\u00ading to fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtally trans\u00adform the wel\u00adfare state from what it is now \u2014 a mas\u00adsive top-down, bu\u00adreau\u00adcratic sys\u00adtem for le\u00adgal\u00adized vote-buy\u00ading \u2014 into some\u00adthing that ac\u00adtu\u00adally helps the peo\u00adple it\u2019s sup\u00adposed to help. We\u2019ll turn the var\u00adi\u00adous agen\u00adcies into 501(c)3 char\u00adi\u00adties, and for\u00adbid them from tak\u00ading tax money or lob\u00adby\u00ading gov\u00adern\u00admen\u00adtal bod\u00adies in their
\nchar\u00adters. Then the peo\u00adple who sup\u00adport them will know that their do\u00adna\u00adtions will go a lot fur\u00adther.
\nNor do we sup\u00adport cor\u00adpo\u00adrate wel\u00adfare. No more bailouts, no more tax-funded foot\u00adball sta\u00addi\u00adums, movie sub\u00adsi\u00addies or con\u00adtracts for white-ele\u00adphant projects. The \u201cAl\u00adbu\u00adquerque Rapid Tran\u00adsit\u201d inanity is a prime ex\u00adam\u00adple of this.
\nSixth, on for\u00adeign pol\u00adicy: For decades, Lib\u00ader\u00adtar\u00adi\u00adans have been de\u00adfamed as \u201ciso\u00adla\u00adtion\u00adists.\u201d True iso\u00adla\u00adtion\u00adism was Ja\u00adpan be\u00adtween 1635 and 1853, or China be\u00adtween 1757 and 1839. We sim\u00adply don\u2019t want Amer\u00adica to be mi\u00adcro\u00admanag\u00ading the af\u00adfairs of the rest of the world.
\nSeventh, we will not sup\u00adport forced as\u00adso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion un\u00adder
