I met her at the Dawson&#8217;s home in LaGrange, long before Nina was an object of my attention. Her and Armand were card buddies with Lou and Perry. I came into the picture because of my friendship with Nan. Don, Ed, Susie, Nan, and myself all hung together. We still do when proximity and time permits. I&#8217;m thinking we&#8217;ve been friends since I was 17, or around 1971. 42 or 43 years? Is that even possible? Someone please check my math.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shirley was always the one that appreciate my devious nature, something I&#8217;m sure my own mother didn&#8217;t. As a mother-in-law, Shirley was great. As a friend, she was fantastic. Her and Armand were good people. Kind people. Great grandparents. Shirley will be missed from our lives and while I&#8217;m sad and tearing up while writing this, I&#8217;m glad she&#8217;s at peace and no longer in pain.<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Suddenly, all of my ancestors are behind me. &#8220;Be still&#8221; they say.
