Shirley’s passing has me remembering how long I’ve known this amazing woman. I met her at the Dawson’s home in LaGrange, long before Nina was an object of my attention. Her and Armand were card buddies with Lou and Perry. I came into the picture because of my friendship with Nan. Don, Ed, Susie, Nan, and myself all hung together. We still do when proximity and time permits. I’m thinking we’ve been friends since I was 17, or around 1971. 42 or 43 years? Is that even possible? Someone please check my math.<\/p>\n
Shirley was always the one that appreciate my devious nature, something I’m sure my own mother didn’t. As a mother-in-law, Shirley was great. As a friend, she was fantastic. Her and Armand were good people. Kind people. Great grandparents. Shirley will be missed from our lives and while I’m sad and tearing up while writing this, I’m glad she’s at peace and no longer in pain.<\/p>\n
