The monarch could have killed him but was moved by\u00a0Arthur&#8217;s youth and ideals. \u00a0So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as\u00a0long as he could answer a very difficult question. \u00a0Arthur would have a\u00a0year to figure out the answer and, if, after a year, he still had no\u00a0answer, he would be put to death.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The question?&#8230;What do women really want? \u00a0Such a question would<br \/>\nperplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed\u00a0an impossible query. \u00a0But, since it was better than death, he accepted\u00a0the monarch&#8217;s proposition to have an answer by year&#8217;s end.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess,\u00a0the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. \u00a0He spoke with\u00a0everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many people advised him to consult the old ugly woman, for only she\u00a0would have the answer.\u00a0But the price would be high; as the woman was famous throughout the\u00a0kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to\u00a0talk to the old woman. \u00a0She agreed to answer the question, but he would\u00a0have to agree to her price first.\u00a0The old ugly woman wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the\u00a0Knights of the Round Table and Arthur&#8217;s closest friend!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Young Arthur was horrified. \u00a0She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only\u00a0one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc.\u00a0He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible\u00a0burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur.\u00a0He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur&#8217;s life\u00a0and the preservation of the Round Table.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the woman answered Arthur&#8217;s\u00a0question thus:\u00a0What a woman really wants, she answered&#8230;.is to\u00a0be in charge of her own life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the woman had uttered a\u00a0great truth and that Arthur&#8217;s life would be spared.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And so it was, the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom\u00a0and Lancelot and the ugly woman had a wonderful wedding.\u00a0The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a<br \/>\nhorrific experience, entered the bedroom. \u00a0But, what a sight awaited<br \/>\nhim. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the\u00a0bed. \u00a0The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The young beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when\u00a0she appeared ugly, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed<br \/>\nself only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half.\u00a0Which would he prefer? \u00a0Beautiful during the day&#8230;.or night?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lancelot pondered the predicament. \u00a0During the day, a beautiful woman\u00a0to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle,\u00a0an old ugly woman? \u00a0Or, would he prefer having a hideous woman during\u00a0the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous\u00a0intimate moments?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What would YOU do?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What Lancelot chose is below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">BUT&#8230;.make YOUR choice before\u00a0you scroll down below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">OKAY?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.\u00a0Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the\u00a0time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her\u00a0own life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now&#8230;.what is the moral to this story?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The moral is&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you don&#8217;t let a woman have her own way&#8230;.<br \/>\nThings are going to get ugly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Subject: ARTHUR AND THE OLD UGLY WOMAN Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a\u00a0neighboring kingdom.
