Just outside Dallas @ a Best Western

So, Nina and I do the nine hour drive to DFW to pick up 5 Harleys for the store. David, the owner, tells me that he usually had the guys stay a cheapie hotels, but since Nina’s with me I can move up a step or two.  Best Western? Sure! They’re not too bad. $143.00! Oh well, maybe he’ll not ask me again if Nina’s free to travel. We’ll see what happens when I turn in my reciepts.

Yesterday’s drive SUCKED! Long drive, high winds, crappy roads. We hit this one spot on the way down that the road was so bad that we were thrown into a lane change. Both the truck and the trailer were tossed into the other lane. Thankfully, there was no one next to us at the time. 7:30 is when the place will open for us this morning and I can load the bikes and head home.

I called David last night and gave him our plans for the return trip and told him that we’d just bring the trailer to our place and return it to the store on Friday since we wouldn’t be able to get it there before they closed. He said it sounded good.

STRANGE WEEK

We had a murder here. Not sure how he was murdered, but he was found hung up on the dam just downriver of where he was thrown in. Do I mourn his death? No, he was a drug dealer and another drug dealer was arrested for his murder. The guy arrested was originally in jail for breaking and entering, can you guess where? If you guessed my place, YOU’RE RIGHT! He was the clown that stole our ATM many moons ago.

Next strange thing was a complaint about one of my officers by a member. Interesting email sent to the store owner and the officer in question. He didn’t send it to me, which I felt he should. I did reply to him and invited him to meet with me and tell me what he would like the chapter to do for him. I hope he accepts, I really want to know.

I went shooting today. Rick and I went to Moriarty and shot the hell outta some pieces of paper. I have my 2 year re-certification for my concealed carry next month and I’m scheduled to shoot with the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s officers. I want to ace it and if my shooting today was any indication, I have nothing to worry about.
