Just a former garbageman living in New Mexico selling crap to tourists and locals alike.

My new moped.

Purdy, aint it?

While I fully intended to do the standard moped that you see around college campuses and Caribbean Islands, I was forced to go for the larger version because of my less than petite size.

It’s just a hair under 900 pounds, 8½ feet long, 103 cubic inches, and a load of fun to drive. With 350 miles under my belt, I’m into the second stage of the break-in period. I can go a bit faster and and drive it a bit harder during this stage of the break-in period. Still don’t plan on beating this thing.

I’ve got all the safety gear, leather jacket, chaps, helmet, safety glasses, boots and gloves. I figure to do this safely and to be truthful, the chaps make my ass look great!

More pictures coming later. Peace!

Windy day yesterday

  • It’s like the wind has no “off” lately. It’s getting old.
  • Lunch with Dennis yesterday. I’ve decided to do salads mostly for lunch. Nina loves making me salads.
  • Tori is in Denver today. Not sure why, but that’s where she’s at. She’ll be back Saturday I’m told.
  • She’s not back Saturday, I’m selling her dogs.
  • Getting a load of gas later this morning. Man that shit is getting expensive! $3.22, my cost.
  • ML is officially on hospice right now. She’s not happy about that. Too bad, so sad.
  • It took Nina several hours to finalize this arrangement.
  • This takes a bit off of Nina. Taking her to a doctor is a done deal now, they come here.
  • They deliver her meds too.
  • Good deal.

The Lost Keys…

After a meeting several days ago, I couldn’t find my keys. I quickly gave myself a personal “TSA Pat Down.”

They weren’t in my pockets. Suddenly I realized I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot. My husband has scolded me many times for leaving my keys in the car’s ignition.

He’s afraid that the car could be stolen. As I looked around the parking lot, I realized he was right.

The parking lot was empty. I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen.

Then I made the most difficult call of all to my husband:   “I left my keys in the car and it’s been stolen.”

There was a moment of silence. I thought the call had been disconnected, but then I heard his voice.   “Are you kidding me?” he barked, “I dropped you off!”

Now it was my turn to be silent.
Embarrassed, I said, “Well, come and get me.”

He retorted, “I will, as soon as I convince this cop that I didn’t steal your car!”

Welcome to the golden years………

Tourism

I was just nominated to the state tourism board to represent the north-easten New Mexico Region. Nominated, not accepted yet. The county manager was tasked to submit a few names and my name was included.

There will be interviews and I believe this is a paid position. Most state board positions are paid. We’ll see.

ML is getting weirder, and I thought that was impossible.

  • She’s breaking through her meds. The meds that temper her strangeness are the ones she’s breaking through.
  • She’s not napping much anymore. If I’m home alone with her, which happens frequently, she wants to talk to me about her  strange life.
  • I will not post the things she says since they are beyond comprehension at times.
  • She thinks she’s funny. I think she’s strange.
  • New meds arrived yesterday, so hopefully she will be stable again sooner than later.
  • We have applied to get her on hospice and that is looking like it’s happening. Reason? Dr. Green, her doctor, is moving out of the area and this makes it so we don’t have to take her out of the house for any appointments.

Barbara Hall

I saw Barbara Hall this afternoon. She’s sounding better and looking fitter than last time I saw her. I had heard that her friend/helper had left, but that turned out to be wrong, he just parks in the garage and it was a mistaken assumption.

She leaves the area mid-May and heads to Henderson NV to live with a friend. This is the best place for her at this time. This area is not the same area she left some years back.

Stuff

  • Nina’s birthday was fairly uneventful.
  • Tonight I’m taking her out to el Rialto. Same place as every other Tuesday in our life, but we love the food and the people there.
  • I doubt Tori will come with since el Rialto is her most hated restaurant in the world.
  • It’s better there when we’re alone anyway. We can interact with the other bar patrons easier.
  • Yeah, we eat in the bar.
  • Nothing really going on lately.
  • Later.

Tractor

Since tractors seem to play a large role in my mostly urban family, I figured I’d post my tractor woes. Last Thursday I towed my tractor to Las Vegas Diesel for repairs. Oil leak, nasty old muffler, battery not charging, and general service.

I stopped by with Erin after the bank and found the tractor missing the top half of the front section. My oil leak was actually 2 leaks on the same hydro tube and they had to remove all the top sheet metal. They are now searching for the needed fittings to fix this issue.

They also said that the muffler problem I’m having was broken brackets and they’re replacing them with new stainless brackets.

I also noticed that I have a new alternator in place, so I have to assume that my charging problem is now fixed.

My tractor is around the same age as me, well, maybe a few years younger, so it needs some TLC on occasion.
