This Blog

I started this version of my blog on 9/5/11 after Apple decided to kill the free blogs they hosted. We’re coming up to the 4 year mark in little over 1 month. While I try to post here daily, there are some days that I miss, whether it’s forgetfulness or just there was nothing to post, it happens.

We’re coming to a new phase in our lives soon and I hope to be able to continue this in an interesting manner, but the voids may be more frequent.

Going back and viewing pictures I’ve posted over the years, the one thing that is most noticeable is how big Erin is getting. Man she was an itty bitty bundle of trouble back then!

I own this server space until 2020, and who knows what will happen by then, but I will keep this going as long as people keep looking at it.

Old Fartz Day

  • Lunch with the Old Fartz today. It will depend on the restaurant of course, but I enjoy the group.
  • Talked with Catherine yesterday. Now that she’s relocated to Santa Fe, she’s getting all sorts of el Valle real estate interest. It’s that bastard Murphy and his law that’s screwing with her.
  • Joe had surgery a couple of days ago. I need to call him and check and see if he survived.
  • Tori’s bike was at Harley yesterday. Last night Rudy, one of the service guys, called me and gave me the inspection report. Great bike in excellent condition. According to the sales staff, she stole that bike and it’s worth almost twice what she paid for it. And to think, I started riding on a Honda 50 but she’s starting on a Harley Sportster.
  • Erin leaves today. I guess the early departure has to do with her week long vacation out east to visit with the family.
  • A guy in Taos threatens a cop’s family when the cops are there on a disturbance call and now he’s going to sue the cops for his treatment? He deserves what he got, if not more.

They’re home safe and sound

Tori, Erin and Michael are home safe and sound and Tori now has her own Harley Sportster. Erin doesn’t like it, she LOVES it. Tori will not ride until she has taken the new rider’s class at SFH-D.

Ed thinks Erin is cute, but I imagine that all that met her on this trip felt that way. She has that way about her.

Tori, Erin and whatshisname

Last night they spent the night in Elk City, which is not too shabby since their GPS took them on one of the slowest routes through Missouri. Right now they’re about 5 to 6 hours from home. I’m looking forward to seeing Erin and the other two again, but mostly Erin.

Yesterday I had to work the last hour of the evening shift. The cashier claimed to be sick and had to go home. She will learn that this is not a good idea. From what I saw of the inventory, she did no stocking and as past employees have found out, my having that info is a BAD thing for all employees.

Actually, the times that I do work I do enjoy dealing with the customers and there was a first time customer from Vegas that thought the store was wonderful and we talked for about 30 minutes while she charged her cell phone. Joe Garafolo stopped by and I found out that he bought one of the many H-D copies, his being a Honda Shadow. We talked of bikes and riding and about how his brother was moving to Eldorado and the fact that he has a H-D. It turns out that Joe’s a full blown preacher these days. While both my kids think less that pleasant thoughts about him, I always enjoy talking with him. Maybe we’ll go riding soon.

Yesterday morning I had a long talk with another neighbor, also named Joe. He’s thinking of buying a gun and was curious about training and carry permits and the shooting. It too was a good talk but it was interrupted by the PAWS patrons that were killing time while the mobile spay and neuter clinic was fixing their dogs. They too wanted to talk with me. Our fault for sitting in the only spot with shade.

We’re on the downside of the summer season. The sun appears later every day and we’re slowly moving into my favorite season. I love fall and the cooler days. I enjoy seeing the colors on the trees and I am looking forward to this seasons colors. With all the rain we’ve had I expect this year’s colors to be spectacular. Nina and I are both looking forward to riding in the mountains this fall.

Enjoy your Sunday!
