Round 2, Day 1

Marylou arrived yesterday around 1 p.m. She was pleasant and polite and grateful even. Compliments all around. Loves Erin, but who doesn’t, right? Tori’s a nice and beautiful girl. (Sucking up to Tori never hurts.) Nina’s a wonderful cook.

Rain!

Wow, did we have rain yesterday! Over an hour of rain left 1 inch of rain behind. It was greatly needed and appreciated! It also gave me a chance to grade my parking lot without inhaling 3 pounds of dust.

Nothing else to report.

Growing old sucks. I won’t live like ML or Shirley, I own guns.

Rain

We had a bit of rain last night. Not enough to leave behind puddles, but still rain.

Today is the day. ML returns. I’m calling this “round 2”.  She has been telling people at Vida that she wants to return to Chicago. If she acts up here again, she’ll be Chicago bound as soon as we can find her housing in an acceptable home.

We had a domestic in the parking lot this morning around 5 a.m. I called the cops, but the idiots were gone before the cops arrived. She was the aggressor. I gave the cops the plate number.

We get a lot of strange here at night.

Soy based products are never a substitute for real meat!

So there I was . . .

  • Had lunch with Mark Levin and his g/f yesterday.
  • She’s a gun and Jeep fan.
  • Mark thinks I’m not as crazy as he used to think.
  • After lunch I went up to Arrow’s Ridge to comfort Joe during these troubling times. It was fun.
  • Earlier, during the cooler hours, I worked a bit on the pumps. General maintenance and stuff.
  • Took a bunch of pictures and measurements too. Since we can’t afford to replace the pumps in September, I’m going to clean them, replace a few damaged items and doll them up.
  • Today we pick up Erin in Dilia. I will tell them my vacation plans for August and have Will sign a paper giving me permission to provide medical care to Erin during that trip.
  • I leave August 4th for Michigan, with Erin, on a Pake/Erin trip. Just her and I on vacation without Nina or Tori. I can’t wait!
  • We hope to camp on the way out there and back.
  • Be gone a week.
  • Normal blog posting starts again tomorrow. Sometimes it’s hard to think of anything to post here.
Okra is not a real food item.  I don’t care what you say!

!

Good Morning!

Heading to Santa Fe to price some custom signs today. I need to replace the pump faces due to sun damage and my sign guy is in Santa Fe.

Cool winds last night were very welcome. They whipped up during poker and made the game in that house from Hell bearable. Speaking of poker, I should just give it up. I lost on some really kick ass hands and like Joe said yesterday, second place don’t win no pots. I lost $25 again. Out of the few dozen hands I played, I won one. It was a killer pot, but I lost that money too.

Don called the other day. We talked for about 5 minutes and it was nice hearing from him. He’s doing well and sounds like life is treating him good. We often talk about our grandkids. He used to bore me with that shit, but now. . . .

Poker has treated me poorly lately. BAD POKER, BAD!

Santa Fe is still a crappy little city.

Had to take Nina’s car in for an oil change when I noticed that her tires needed balancing. The oil change went as planned, the tires not so. The tire guy was booked, but the oil guy was OK.

I sat most of the time in Marc’s office. We talked about a variety of strange and disturbing stuff. Marc sells us our cars. I fired Elias again. Not sure if it took this time, but I’ll keep trying until he’s gone. He seems to think that since I don’t work at the dealership, my firing him doesn’t count. It’s a shame he has to go, he’s married with young kids and needs to job, but I outrank him and I’m bigger than he is.

After that I went to Santa Fe Motor Sports. If I can trade both my ATV’s in on a side by side, Nina’s all for it. I’m not sure I’m for it, but WTH. I spent way too much time there talking to the sales staff and Sid, the owner. Sorta like old home week.

Nina’s car does 115 m.p.h. but handles like shit. It also gets 27+ m.p.g. which is pretty darned good. It would go faster if not for the stupid governor installed by the factory. I wonder if my ProCal can remove it since we both have the same engine.

I’ve been enjoying Jarrito’s Limon drink. Mexican soda is pretty good. Mexican Pepsi is also better than the shit sold here.

Nice dinner last night Nina!

Wrong again.

This morning’s smoke is the result of a house fire locally. The house is owned by a Microsoft gazillionaire and he owns it just to keep undesirables out of it. I knew the former owners, as customers, and they couldn’t sell that dump to save their lives. Ask a buttload of money for a butt ugly property and that place will be in your butt for years.

Off to gawk.

Update

Gawking completed. House is 90% gone. No one’s lived there for years and while it had historical status, I doubt it would have ever been lived in again. Fire crews are still on site and are checking for flareups. There is no spreading into the foliage near the house.

Off to my next misadventure.

Update # 2

Nina reminded me that the place was called the Foothill’s Ranch.

That’s it! No more today.
