Busy weekend.

  • Arrow’s Ridge dinner was great.
  • Hiking and off-roading was fun.
  • We found out that the area we go to has an actual name
  • Thanks Christopher!
  • I’ve been requested to remove someone’s personal info from here and not post anymore of that info here. Done.
  • Odd stuff has been happening because someone found my blog.
  • I plan to post the info about the off-road area here soon. Pics too.
  • Erin is back home. That kid is too smart for our good.
Neener neener neener. No more info from me!

Government example.

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, ‘I cannot accept money from you, I’m doing community service this week.’ The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a ‘thank you’ card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, ‘I cannot accept money from you, I’m doing community service this week. The cop was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a ‘thank you’ card and a dozen doughnuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Member of Congress came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, ‘I cannot accept money from you. I’m doing community service this week.’ The Member of Congress was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Members of Congress lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.

Yesterday.

  • Wind.  Up to 60 mph.  NASTY.
  • Poker at Curt’s. Fun because Curt wasn’t there.
  • I left $5 to the positive.
  • Finally have the tractor at 100%. 2 thick bolts finished the job.
  • Helped Dennis start a blog to spotlight his upcoming trip.

Today

  • COLD.
  • Snow to the north of us in the ski areas.
  • Going to Catherine’s to fix her drive from the rain damage.
  • Dinner with Nina in Las Vegas.

Other Stuff

  • Erin comes to us defiant and leaves us a sweet kid.
  • We need to cut out the other people.
  • Lent Dennis a camera to document his trip for his blog.
  • Nina is planning another trip to Chicago to check on ML and continue her cleaning spree of ML’s condo.
  • I may head east for this trip. May.
  • Dennis starts his journey on Tuesday. He’s taking his bike for this trip.
  • Shirley is still here, physically. Mentally? Sometimes.
  • Nina is in daily contact with ML’s social worker.
  • ML would probably shit a puppy if she realized she had a social worker assigned to her.
  • We’re still planning on Amsterdam in June. Can’t wait. We’ll be there on my 60th b’day.
  • I’m thinking of Chicago for T’day or Xmas. Me alone or Nina and me.
  • I’d love to take Erin with, but I doubt that will happen.
Today is the perfect day to chill and enjoy life. Just do it.

I’m not amused.

  • My tractor, which has been at the mechanic for 2 weeks, has a dead battery.
  • Very cool website that did amuse me.
  • Marylou is STAYING in Illinois. After her first night she begged to return, but since she was there for several days while Nina worked at the condo, she changed her mind and will stay there. We’ll see how long this lasts.
  • The balloon fiesta is the only thing the news creatures are talking about today. I don’t care. Stop talking nonsense and give me news and weather.
  • Shirley spent the entire weekend in bed. She ate and drank, but not enough to sustain over time. We’ll see what Deb’s results are.
  • Erin is in a foul mood. It also appears that Tori is too.
  • Connected? I think so.
