Stuff

  • Well, I didn’t make my 10,000 mile goal by today. It could have been done if I was willing to ride in crappy weather, but I wasn’t.
  • Erin spent the night here last night. She sleeps in a sleeping bag on the floor next to Nina. Usually I have to walk around a large dog in the mornings when I wake up, but this morning Whiskey was sleeping next to Erin. Erin is dog people and Whiskey loves her.
  • Work started again on the septic system only to stop because the new tanks can’t be delivered until Tuesday of next week. It turns out that the depth of the ground where the new tanks are going is  actually pretty close to what is needed and there will be very little breaking of bedrock on this job.
  • Last week the Harley dealership had a bag sale. 19% off on all shit you could stuff in the bag. Since I was there I bought a new taillight for the bike. It’s a LED light that flashes in a pattern prior to staying on and they are designed to increase my visibility when breaking. It has several programmable patterns, a couple of which resemble cop car bar lights. I’m going to install it today or tomorrow. I saved $50 buy getting it last Saturday during the sale.
  • Ted Cruz for president? I hope not, he’s a vile hate filled little man, but I think it’s funny that now the extreme right has someone that wasn’t born in this country running for president. I guess it’s alright for the right to do this but the left gets shit. Let the games begin!
  • The Old Fartz had an email pissing contest over an email this weekend. Sad when one person decides to take a private email public to provoke an attack on the other for speaking his mind. It may split the group, but both groups would have good people in it.
  • Erin bounces around between me and Nina on her weekly visits. Last week she would have nothing to do with me and this week it’s all about me. We played a game and cuddled and talked with me yesterday. Her mind is always active and she’s a sponge that never forgets.
  • Peace everyone!

Plans change due to many things. We did not go all he way to 104 today due to the winy conditions on 60. We just did about 250 miles and while windy, it was nice to be out and about with Nina on the bike.

I decided to check my milage and I was surprised that we hit 43 m.p.g on the trip, even with the wind.

Just another Sunday. (9444)

Once Nina is up and ready, we will hit the road on the bike and have breakfast at Joe’s Diner in Santa Fe. We will then head south on NM 14, thru Madrid and Cedar Crest until we hit US Route 60. We’ll probably head east on 60 until we hit NM 104 and we’ll head north to Vegas.

YESTERDAY

Since I am working to be a road captain for the chapter to help on rides, I went on the ride yesterday with 2 of the road captains and a vet that has PTSD is a serious way. He made an interesting ride surreal. All 3 of my companions were vets and the sane 2 were both involved in the aviation industry after serving. One in civilian aviation and the other in communications that crossed over from the military and aerospace.

After lunch we parted ways and I headed south while they went north. It was a great day for a ride.

  • OK, why the hell are people asking me about sports crap? I have nothing to do with sports, with the possible exception of entering a Super Bowl pool, and while I can pretend to be interested in football or baseball, if the sport of basketball went the way of the dinosaurs I’d be a happy camper.
  • Hey, it rained last night and the weatherliars are predicting more today and tomorrow. Even a blind man with a gun can hit something if he pulls the trigger often enough.
  • Since Friday I’ve taken the bike out everyday but one. Almost a hundred miles a day, but if I wish to reach my goal of 10,000 miles by the 24th of this month, I’m going to have to up my game a bit. I bought the bike on the 24th last year.
  • The 24th is also Nina’s birthday. Make sure you ship all her presents by tomorrow latest to ensure that they get here in time.
  • Face tattoos. Why?
  • I may get a haircut today.
  • Peace.

Nice ride on Tuesday. Stopped by the dealership to see if there was anyone around to ride with, but there was no one there. Printed out a few copies of the newsletter since I noticed that there were none at the dealership.

After leaving the dealership, I headed east looking for food. After processing several options through my tiny brain, I decided that Harry’s Roadhouse was the best option. I had a fried chicken sandwich with swiss and mushrooms. Tiny brain scored today, it was great. After going there for a few years, they’re starting to recognize us as regulars and the service is better that way. Don’t get me wrong, their service is alway good, but regulars seem happier.

Drove home on I-25 since there’s not any other option really from Santa Fe. 106 miles for the morning.
