Christmas # 3 for Erin.

IMG_0660 IMG_0662 IMG_0659

So yesterday Erin had Christmas #3.  Presents from Josh’s family that were never picked up until Saturday.  That kid and presents is something else.  She tore into them and had a ball.

Well, Nina and I are both using our Fitbits and while Nina’s doing great just doing what she does, yesterday I had to really try to do some good numbers.  Talked to Beth about this too and she told me that it acted as an incentive to her.  We both agreed that Nancy didn’t need any incentive to be active, she’s the energizer bunny.

I walked the campground 3 times Sunday.  Twice with the dogs, once with Erin, and once alone.  Erin loves taking the dogs with us when we walk, so we took Otto & Whiskey with us and I took them for the first walk of the day.  I hope to keep this up and I’m feeling it in my legs.  I walked a little over 3 miles.

Banking this morning.  Bringing Erin with and then we plan to visit with ML at Vida.  After Vegas, Nina will be heading to Santa Fe for product at Sam’s and her allergy shot.

Once home with Erin,  I hope to go to the Nat. Park with Erin to see what that little thing will show me about that place.  The brochure states that the path is 1.2 miles long, but I’d like to know what I’m doing there.

Later today I need to get my gas documents in order for the local petroleum inspector.  He said he was coming in for his inspection between 1 & 3 weeks.  That usually means 1 week exactly.  He don’t like me.  I’ll be good except for some new training that I was unaware of, but I should be OK with that even as long as I register for the next class.  $300 that I didn’t need to spend that the state mandates I spend. I hate this place.

Everyone have a great week.

Wow!

What a roller coaster week we’ve had, but things are now back to normal.  All that remains is our need to move our furniture back to where it belongs and then Nina and I plan to disappear from existence for the day on Saturday.

For those of you that know or care, ML is now at Vida Encantada and was very happy to be there when we left.  Nina has her back on therapy to restore as much movement as possible.  She took to her first session gladly, according to Nina.  This will be better than her being in Illinois because we can visit her and I plan to do so with Erin weekly.

Erin.  I’m hoping to head east this summer with Erin.  Michigan is a lock for a visit, but everything else is still up in the air.  She’s bigger, more confident around water, and loves the beach now, so a trip to Michigan will be a good thing for her.  I’m not sure how long the trip will be, I’m sure that discussion will need to be held with the parents about that detail.

I’ve also decided to take her camping this summer, but that’s another story.

Stupid shit.

  • Yesterday we had to have ML transported to the hospital.
  • Yesterday she told us that she had to go to the hospital and it was an emergency.  We called the ambulance.
  • Yesterday she was screaming at the ambulance people because they were asking her questions.
  • Yesterday, at the hospital she was determined to be dehydrated and they rehydrated her.
  • Yesterday Nina and Tori were texting about this and Tori came away with the “fact” that we were going to be investigated for elder abuse.
  • Yesterday Tori told me that CYFD would be here to investigate abuse to Erin because of the “abuse” to ML.
  • Yesterday I received a shitload of BAD INFO because of people texting instead of TALKING.  Talking is good.  Texting blows goats.
  • Yesterday I found out the truth by calling Nina on the phone and TALKNG to her because I freaking HATE texting.  Why?  Because it blows goats.  3 minutes on the phone gave me correct info.
  • Yesterday I started to agree with Carl about technology because TEXTING is a pain in the ass.  I’d actually rather have ass pain than text with anyone.
  • Yesterday was just a weird freaking day made weirder by texting at the end of the day.
  • Yesterday ML told us that she wanted to go to a home again and leave us to our lives.  Yay!  We will make this happen sometime this week.  Soon even.
  • I wonder what today will bring.

Marylou

I will no longer be posting here about ML, other than a post tomorrow about what happened today.  She’ll be leaving our house soon and heading to a nursing home.  It is her decision and I agree with her after 2 nights with her.

I’m very tired of her games and I’d rather not burden you all with tales of a cranky old lady that is seriously lacking in social graces when it comes to family.  People told me that taking her in was a mistake and they were right and I was wrong.

I doubt she’ll make it here past day 6.

Wow, things turn to shit quickly with Marylou.  She went from grateful to spiteful in under 3 days.  The pity party is huge.  She wants to die every 15 minutes and last night was a nightmare.  She’d keep yelling for help and Nina would have to reposition her in bed or give her water or some such shit.

Monday we’ll be heading to Vida Encantada to check on space availability there.  That’s where Shirley was when she was in a home.  At least it’s closer than any place in Chicago.  I hope we can place her there by wednesday latest.

I was so proud of Nina last night.  She was putting ML to bed and she ripped into her about her attitude and her whininess in general.  She gave her 5 minutes of it and ML apologized to Nina.

I was typing this when I heard “water.  water.  water.” coming from her room.  Walked in and gave her some and then left.  No words were spoken, no thank you.  What a nasty woman.

People told me that she would not be nice and I didn’t believe them.  I was wrong and you all were right.  She seemed so helpless and contrite during my visits to her prior to her coming here.  She fooled me.  Vile people don’t change.

We tried.

Small list of things . . .

  • We’ve decided to leave Shirley at Arrow’s Ridge until we are better, which should be tomorrow, maybe.  Doing this for the same reason we left Erin in Dilia.
  • I’m feeling slightly better today.  Yesterday I felt like I was kicked by a mule.  Slept most of the day.
  • I type this after an hour long nap, which I took after breakfast.  I plan on at least one more nap today, maybe two.
  • Erin should be home tomorrow.
  • Have a great day.
