Are we there yet?

The weekend? Is it here yet?

Yesterday we met again and finally chose the marketing firm that will handle all the marketing for the city and the county. I spent 6 hours going through he packets and grading each firm and it turns out that I was the lazy one doing this. Most spent 8 to 10 hours doing this work. I guess the grading system worked though, we all agreed on the same firm. Sorry, I can’t tell you who it is, I’ve been sworn to secrecy.

Shirley should come home from the hospital today or tomorrow. It turns out that she didn’t have pneumonia, but a urinary tract infection. I won’t go into the details that Nina told me. Your welcome.

She was severely dehydrated too and they kept her this long to make sure she is rehydrated fully. I’m pretty sure she’ll do this again as soon as she gets home. The doctor told Nina she is at the beginning of the end. He has no idea how long, but it can come anytime or it she could last 2 years, max.

I did lunch yesterday. All alone. No Nina. No Tori. No Andy. No Erin. No Dennis. No Joe. No committee. No politicians. It was nice, I just read.

Tomorrow, Dennis and I will be installing the new surveillance system. Damned things are expensive! Oh well, it’ll be nice to see all parts of the store again.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until they speak.

Thursday already?

  • Erin leaves today.
  • Nina will check on Shirley this morning and hopes to see the doctor.
  • I’m kicking Tori’s butt on Scrabble. Kicking it hard!
  • Mike and Kathy are back in the area and asking for credit again. Yesterday I told her no in uncertain terms. She’s desperate and is telling me that I know they’re good for it.
  • BULLSHIT!
  • Excuse me, that response is kinda like a sneeze with some people these days.
  • While they claim they are leaving, I can’t see it happening. No money honey!
  • Our property is nice and green thanks to the recent rains. It looks good.
If I promise to miss you, will you go away?

The misadventures of the NM Post peoples.

  • Shirley is in the hospital. In an earlier posting I’ve listed the highly technical terms for all to peruse.
  • The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain. Why do plain people in Spain always get wet? Oh well, this isn’t Spain but we’re getting rain here too. I spent a few hours yesterday grading my driving surfaces that suffered because of Spain’s rains hitting my place.
  • Then Joe came and borrowed my tractor. As God as my witness, I never thought that he’d destroy my tractor again, but he managed to do so. “Honest Glen, I was driving with the blade raised all the way up and it wasn’t dragging on the ground. I checked repeatedly and I know it wasn’t on the ground, but all of a sudden BAM! it snagged on an invisible rock that was never there before and I sheared this huge thick pin that carries the box blade.”
  • He brought Steven with him to tell me because he knows I won’t beat a friend in front of his kid.  Well played Joe.
  • Lucky I had a few spares lying around here. I gave him 5 to make sure he was able to finish grading his road. I haven’t checked how many he used.
  • These pins are 1 inch thick, solid case hardened steel pins. Maybe they were Chinese.
  • Last night Nina and I walked into el Rialto around 7 p.m. We never go out to eat that late, but with Shirley in the hospital and that hospital’s efficient admissions procedures, late was when we ate. All the employees asked if we were ok. I guess a 2 hour late arrival worried them. It’s nice to be known at a favorite haunt.
  • We get home yesterday around 8:30 and Tori was livid. She immediately knew that we’d been drinking and took my keys from me. Too late, I was home and headed to bed. I found my keys on the kitchen table this morning. Two drinks each and Tori turns to a prohibition maven, talk about overkill!
  • Nina’s going to the foot doctor today. Maybe she’ll be without a brace again? I think it’s been a year since she broke her foot on our vacation and she’s still limping around in a brace. Weak bones come from weak genes. Just saying . . .  don’t hate the messenger. I wish we had taken her to the hospital in London.
  • Facetime is fun and I found out that Apple has versions of it for Window’s machines and people running alternate operating systems. Free downloads too! Pretty cool of Apple to make this happen.
Always remember that you are absolutely unique… Just like everyone else…
Disclaimer: Not all of the above is 100% true. I was feeling a bit creative this morning and that results in bullshit being added to facts. Ain’t I a fun guy?

RAIN!

  • Big rain!
  • Soaking rain!
  • Needed rain!
  • Multi-day rain!
  • Rain Rain
  • Drizzling now type rain!
  • Did I mention rain?!

Different stuff!

  • Erin returns today!
  • Yay!
  • Banking in the a.m.
  • Delivering paperwork after banking.
  • Breakfast in town.
  • Paperwork being done in the afternoon.
  • Tori is up.  I think I’ll tell her to get Erin now. She does so well at 10 to 7 in the a.m.
  • Why am I the only morning person in this household?
  • 3 weeks before Michigan.
  • Remember, if you register here you can comment on my posts and even write your own posts here.
  • Who here is a newly ordained lawyer? After the Zimmerman verdict it seems like there are MILLIONS new legal experts on Facebook. They’re fun to poke.
  • Our country is still divided by race. We’re divided by other shit too, but race is the game of the day people, so bear with me. Treyvon Martin was killed by a white man according to the press, our liberal neighbors, and the black activists. The fact that Zimmerman was half Hispanic is completely forgotten by the press, activists, and liberals. The fact that the government will consider him Hispanic for things like tax breaks, census data, and other fun free shit that the poor gets, is completely ignored. Now while I recognize that white folks still share some of the causes of today’s divisiveness, I’m now thinking that the people of color are more to blame for today’s racism or divisiveness that us white folk. White folk have been conditioned by the P.C. crowd to be accepting of people of color. We’re even being told that we have to respect and honor people of color that bomb us and fly airplanes into our buildings.
  • In general, we are a shitty species. We need to institute breeding controls over the stupid and angry in our society. We need to stop allowing morons to own guns. We need to muzzle the press. They cause more shit than any other segment of society, all in the name of a free press. I’m sick of them.
  • Rant over.
Hippies may have had it right, except for the lack of bathing.

We’ve got nothing happening today. We did the breakfast thing already and that appears to be the highlight of the day.

Erin is staying with the other family for an extra day. Not sure why Tori made that decision, but she did. They’re coming home from Colorado now, and I’m sure they could have picked her up on the way, but it’s not happening.

Shirley is staring at me and it’s starting to creep me out!
