My New Ride

Since it went to Facebook, I figured to mention that it was bought at Lithia Jeep in Santa Fe.  Marc Golan always treats me like an armed intruder in his house when he sees me at the dealership, but I still buy all my cars from Marc.

General Bullshit. Watch where you step!

Nina met with the nursing home’s physical therapist yesterday about ML’s progress, or lack thereof as the case may be.  She is improving, but she’s also telling the therapist that she doesn’t have to learn things, like bathroom skills, getting in and out of bed, and dressing and such, because she will have people here to do all that shit for her.  Monday Nina and I are planning on giving her a reality check.  Should be fun.

Erin and I play this chasing game here, one where I walk around the furniture while she runs from me and I try to catch her.  Me walking and her running doesn’t sound like I stand much of a chance, but to date I’ve only failed to catch her once.  Now this shouldn’t even be written about except for the fact that she will stop in mid-run and taunt me!  Once she even had the gall to tell me I can’t catch her because I’m too fat!  I immediately put on a burst of speed and caught her in 4 steps.  Long legs beat short legs every time!  Nasty little kid.

Someone is stealing gas from my car in my carport.  I set up a game camera and I hope to catch this jerk and kick his ass.  It’s not a lot of gas, but still, he’s stealing from ME.  I know this is happening because my gas cap is off or loose at times.  I’d like to shoot him in the ass, but that would get me in more trouble than him.

Tori leaves for Florida soon, a little over a week I think and we will be picking up Erin during her absence so the other people have no clue that she left.  Tori is going with Debra.  I used air miles to pay for the flight just to get Tori out of here for a much needed vacation.

The forest service is shutting down the Santa Fe National Forest in sections because of the draught.  I’m sick and tired of the dust and the wind.  I hope the monsoon season is severe enough to eliminate all this draught shit.  We need rain, snow, sleet, hail, or whatever brings us moisture.

Rumor going around the valley is that I’m buying a backhoe.  I’ve had 3 people ask me if I’d lend it to them.  I asked them why they thought I’d lend them a backhoe when I won’t lend them my tractor, which is a much simpler and easier piece of equipment.  IF I were to buy any equipment like that, I would use the same policy that I use for all my tools, NO LENDING OF TOOLS.  Dumb asses.

Peace.

I’m Bored.

I have no idea why, but I’m bored.  Bored more than usual.  I’ve been looking at new vehicles to help relieve some of my boredom.  Stopped at the Toyota dealer and Jeep place today to poke around without my salesmen being there.  I called to make sure.

Going with Nina to Toyota and possibly take a longer test drive of the FJ Cruiser.  I’m getting the feeling that Nina’s leaning to the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but I’m probably wrong.  I went to the Jeep store and sat in the G.C. and found it quite pleasant, but they only have the 6 cylinder there now.  It is very well equipped but it’s still a 6 cylinder.

The Toyota has a lot more power than my Jeep and the Jeeps that I looked at.  Still a 6 banger, but it’s 4.0 liter.  Yeah, I know.  The Toyota is more comfortable, wider than all the Jeeps.

Erin Today & Weird Shit.

We did the car thing together today.  She was unimpressed with anything and eventually just waited in the car.  Don’t worry, I left the window cracked.  Afterwards we stopped at B.K. and took the food to a park near the mall.

Mostly it was a nice time, but there was a “dog incident” that caused yelling and profanity between 2 other park attendees.  One had his dog leashed and other didn’t.  Leash guy started yelling at me to leash my dog and I meekly explained to him that it wasn’t my dog.  He demanded to know whose dog it was and I ignored him in a gentle and kindly manner.  He came closer and I indicated to him that I wasn’t interested in discussing things with him anymore.  I picked up a rock about the size of a baseball.

He went to his car and put his dog away and took out a back pack, which I assumed had a gun in it by the way it was sagging.  Since he put it on his back I decided not to retrieve one of my guns from my gun safe.  On his way back to rationally discuss things with me, he realized that the dog belonged to an older gentleman and he veered off to confront the true offender of the park’s leash law.

Profanity ensued and I started to get Erin packed away.  When she was safely in the Jeep, I walked up behind the loudmouth and watched him to make sure he didn’t start pounding on the old guy.  The old guy just packed up his dog and left while telling the loudmouth to perform an impossible sex act upon himself.

OK, not so boring on the surface, but it really did nothing for me.  I’m bored with drama.  It was all drama.  Erin and I spent the drive home talking.  Actually, Erin spent the time talking.

Yesterday, Erin and I went to Villanueva State Park and played there and afterward hiked down the river.

General Stuff

While in Santa Fe, Erin and I stopped at a playground near the mall.

Well, Nina, Andy & Debra are on their way home.  They cleaned one room while at ML’s condo, her bedroom.  Lot’s of stuff packed and ready to move out in whatever means we eventually choose.

I may be heading east sooner than I planned, which was June, just to get outta Dodge, so to speak.  There’s a Jeep thing going in Northbrook on the 6th of April that I’m interested in.  I figure to drive out there and do that with my little trailer and then load the trailer after the event and return.  This is a big freaking maybe though.  Joe, you want to go with me?  It would be a short trip.

All my meetings went well.  The first one was a shocker to the group since I usually only talk when questioned.  This time though I was getting annoyed and after 2 hours of talk about the group name and parliamentary procedure, I raised my had and asked the million dollar question; Is this group going to be registered with the state, feds, or any other agency?  The answer was no.  I then told them that all this bullshit about procedure and names are wasting my time.  Just add the city to the name and try to loosen things up a bit and screw the parliamentary  crap.  All in favor?

Dinner with Catherine and Diane last night was fun.  Early evening still, but it was nice seeing Diane again.  I see Catherine frequently, but Diane seldom.  We went to El Rialto in Las Vegas.  Alcohol was consumed in moderation but it was consumed.  I need to get together with friends in a night like that more often.

I’ve just added a new link on the right.  Messy Nessy Chic, an off-beat travel site that I found yesterday while bored and surfing.  Check it out when you get a chance.  No, I have no connection to that site, but I did enjoy the time spent on it yesterday.

For all that care, Shirley is very active lately.
She told me that she can walk.
~I told her that she can’t walk.
She said she could.
~I told her she could, but only with someone helping her.
I was told that I can help her walk.
~I said no. Not going to happen.
Why not?
~I told her she chose the wheelchair over therapy.
I did?
~Yep. You wanted to die and said no to therapy.
I did?
~Yep
Why would I do that?
~I don’t know.
But I want to walk.
~If you want to walk, you have to go back to the home.
Why?
~For the therapy they offer.
How long?
~About 2, maybe 3 months.
OK.
~You can talk to Nina about this when she returns.
OK

My life takes some strange twists.  Nina’s gone, Shirley talks.  Nina’s home, silence.  Not sure why this happens.

Later.

Today is the day.

There’s a lodger’s tax advisory board meeting today that I have to attend.  I’m going to tell the board of my efforts to join with the city board for advertising more effectively to increase tourism.

Erin and I will most likely go for a walk today, weather permitting.  She likes to explore and I like watching her explore.  I may take Whiskey with to watch over her while she explores.  Snakes are starting to appear.

Tomorrow I dine with a couple of friends.  Going to Rialto again.  I enjoy these little outings with friends that I haven’t seen in a while.  Hey Nina, Melinda is even thinking of joining us for dinner.  We haven’t seen her in forever, ya know?

Erin and I are watching SpongeBob Squarepants while I type this.  I can feel myself grow as a person with every episode.  Now, where did I hide my assault rifle?  Actually, I find that show to be quite funny in many aspects, but none of them coincide with the reasons Erin laughs at the show.

To all my friends that read this drivel daily, I thank you for your interest in my writings and stuff.  I feel you should know that I’ve been under 300 pounds now for more than a few days and while that has been temporary before, I hope this time is permanent.  Walking daily and lowering my calorie intake at the same time has worked.  My goal is 250.  Once I reach that, I will reassess my weigh and possibly move to a lower weigh as a goal.

Hey, did everyone enjoy that spider picture?  I know spiders creep most people out, but they fascinate me and while I don’t like them in my house, I enjoy watching them outdoors.

Happy Spring Everyone!
