Shaping up to be a nice day. I meet Catherine, Sandra, and Doug for breakfast in 1½ hours at the Spic. Dinner is with Joe and Virginia at Dick’s Liquors. Both places have been accused of having insulting names. My kind of places.
How I Met Your Mother
You know, the TV series that had the finale last night. I did not enjoy it. It was a let down in many ways. The only highlight was the last scene where we were left with the implication that Ted and Robin will end up together. Oh well, it’s only TV.
The show, along with my day, was fraught with interruptions. Calls from the store about people wanting to cash check and general stupidities. I swear I will replace my store sign with a “WE DON’T CASH CHECKS HERE, STUPID”, or I would if I hadn’t already ordered my new sign.
Other Shit
Erin was placed on the payroll yesterday. Well, not officially, but she thinks so. At breakfast on Mondays, she pays the bill and I let her keep the coins that she gets back in change. Yesterday she asked if she could keep the bills too. I said OK. The bill was $26.17 and I gave her $27.00 to pay with. She returned miffed. Since she was going to Wally-World with Nina, I told her that if Nina told me that Erin was a big help, I would pay her. She was placated.
Around dinner time I was reminded of my promise. After checking with Nina, I was informed that she was a big help and deserved to be paid for her help. I gave her $5 and you’d have thought I gave her $500. She ran and put the money in her piggy bank. Nice to see she is developing a work ethic.
GM & Keychains?
I was watching the news this morning and saw the GM problem with cars that would shut off unexpectedly. The one thing I got from this is the fact that an overloaded keychain could shut the car down. This causes me to think of many of the keychains I’ve seen that are owned by some women (Tori) that contain about 10 pounds of decorative shit suspended from the ignition switch. You KNOW that can’t be good for any switch but GM is taking all the heat from this. Sure they may have done better, but when you buy a car that costs peanuts, you don’t get quality. Could it be that the drivers are partially to blame for the accidents? Maybe, but we’re not seeing the complete picture. Just my opinion.
Other Job?
My other job may disappear soon. Many may ask “other job?” but it’s something that I don’t really advertise much. My boss there was given 2 weeks notice and today marks day 14. I was basically a customer service rep for a website since 1994. The site, which will remain nameless, is most likely going away to be turned into a clone of the parent companies other sites. I did not get this name, but I was around to help the owner with code checking in the early days. Oh well, all good things shall end.
