Marketing Meeting

For those guided by a sense of discovery and admiration for the authentic, the original Las Vegas – an hour east of Santa Fe on the backdrop of the Sangre de Cristos in San Miguel County – delivers a true wild west ride through New Mexico’s unvarnished history so you can discover new adventures down old trails.

That’s what $90K buys for the city and county to date. The meeting, all 2½ hours of it, consisted of a conference call with the company in Tennessee telling us of their progress. Once there’s approval from the city and the county, the company moves to the creative process. I’m assuming/hoping that the creative includes a logo and simple tagline for advertising.

Believe it or not, the above statement covers all the bases we required of Northstar. There’s a lot of important info in that sentence, but it’s also too loch to be used as a tag line for most ads.

Short Ride

I took a short ride with Marc today and we had lunch at the Spic in Vegas. Nice ride, nice meal, and a nice morning.

Sadly, Erin is gone already, but that was to be expected and she and I said our goodbyes as I left.

Today I attend a meeting that will finally show us the “brand” we’ve hired a company to produce for us, the city and the county. The meeting is at 2:00 and I will ride out there today on the bike.

Pork

  • I like pork sausages, but I don’t like pork.
  • I like bacon, but I don’t like pork.
  • I like ham, but I don’t like pork.
  • I don’t hate pork and I will eat it if set in front of me, but I don’t enjoy eating pork.
  • I find it to be a flavorless piece of meat and I don’t like it.
  • In most cases I would rather eat the side dishes and leave the pork for the trash can.

We’re having pork for dinner tonight.
