OK, poker and I are not friends anymore.

While I had a great time playing, I only won 1 stinking hand and it was a smallish pot at that. I had good hands and still got beaten pretty bad. Like I said, I had a great time and I got to rip on some good people that have great senses of humors.

I did a lot of driving yesterday and I see a lot of driving in my future for today too. Bank to get papers signed and possibly Santa Fe for delivery. I will be checking on getting the FedEx number of the law firm to keep me from running to SF.

Crap!

I never pushed the publish button and just found this around noon! Oh well, I’m not going to change any of the above.

The law firm gave me their FE number and the paperwork is now heading east for delivery monday. No real driving anymore today. Nice!

The wind is back and driving most of us crazy.

I’m getting very tired of the wind. With the lack of moisture, the warmer weather, and the cursed wind, we are now facing an early fire season with several fires already in progress. If we don’t start getting rain or snow, this will be another miserable summer season.

The winds here also make being outside very unpleasant. After a while I didn’t want to go out to exercise or play with Erin. Erin is fine with the wind, she has no mass to offer resistance to the wind and it has little effect on her.

Other Points To Ponder

Anyone see the vase that the artist broke in protest? It’s valued at “$1,000, 000” and I gotta tell you, I don’t see it. Living artist, that is still producing  and still producing ugly shit. I hope they try to collect compensation in court and have the artist justify the price.

The plastic bag ban in Santa Fe has piqued my interest. If this spreads throughout the state, I’ll be able to charge 10¢ for every paper bag that a customer wants. It’s a state imposed “fee” that the retailer can keep, but there’s no saying that I can’t charge what I want or even decline to charge the customer. The tree huggers want us all to use reusable bags for our food products. So now we get to wash these things after several used because of leakage and other contaminants or face the possibility of diseases and other fun maladies because the tree huggers have stamped their feet and held their breath until they got their way.

New Mexico is looking at a vote on minimum wages. Our elected officials, including Sen. Phil Griego-friend and neighbor, are voting on a constitutional amendment to place this on the ballot. They’re using this venue to avoid a veto from the governor and circumventing the usual process. The only thing that’s looking like a  small salvation for businesses is that 2 Dems are sick and will not be voting for this amendment. May their illness spread to more Dems. Funny thing is that I will probably fire Sen. Griego’s grandson if this amendment causes the raise to happen. The kid’s not worth the current wage and I will dump his ass if this happens.

Wow, the great lakes made NM news this morning. 88% of the lakes are frozen solid. People in Michigan are predicting that it will lead to cooler water temps during the summer season and may effect the tourism.

Politicians are like sperm, only one in a million turn out to be human beings.

Tired

  • I’m tired of these federal holidays.
  • I’m tired of explaining to employees that they don’t get paid time and a half on days like this.
  • They don’t understand that I don’t have to pay them time and a half unless I want to and there’s only 7 holidays where that applies here.
  • New Years Day
  • Easter
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • If you want more, go work for the state, the feds, some corporation, or some unionized company.
  • I’m also tired of being tired.

I am a husband, father, grandfather, friend, business owner, traveller, Harley rider, citizen, patriot, gun owner, politically eclectic person of strange personal habits. I support police, trust no politicians, and can argue any side of an argument just to amuse myself. People love me or hate me and those that are in-between don't know me.
