Nice day yesterday.

We had a nice day yesterday. Did an abnormal amount of off-roading when you consider what most people with 4X4s do each year. I’m guestimating that we did around 60 miles off-road. Fun stuff. Since I left my camera in the Jeep, I have no pictures to show you until later.

Ouray is also affect by the same drought that has us crying FOUL. They however have had some snow and are not in as bad of shape as we are. The river is lower, the run-off is almost nonexistent and we are seeing more dead trees. We should not be able to get to places we are going but the lower than normal snowfall has trails open now that are usually not open until mid-July or later.

There is a Jeep in the parking lot that has the rear bumper that I want. It has a spare carrier that works in conjunction to the door rather than adding another step. Maybe around Christmas time. Here it is. You may drool at this point if you own a Jeep. I wonder if the guy in the parking lot would notice if I switched bumpers with him, it’s only 8 bolts.

I had two drinks with dinner last night. They must really load those mixed drinks with more than a few shots because they hit me hard last night. Shirley’s being a snot to Tori, but that’s OK, she’s young and can take it.

It’s 4:30 something as I type this and I think I may try to fall back to sleep again. This place has GREAT beds. Best beds in Ouray!

I’ll ad some pictures around breakfast time, maybe.

Laters everyone. Piece, peace, PPPPPP’s, and whatever.

You’d think we’d have had enough of Ouray

and you’d be wrong.

With the situation that occurred with ML this past week under control, we were left hanging and just a little disturbed that we’re stuck in NM rather than being in Chicago as planned. I called Wednesday and found there were plenty of rooms at the Hot Springs Inn in Ouray and we decided to take a long weekend up here.

I’m sitting in a swinging chair with a table writing this alongside the Uncompahgre River while writing this. We’re doing 2 nights currently but may extend if rooms are available.

We’re going to Animas Forks today and hope to lunch at Handlebars in Silverton. This was the same trail where I got the flat last year. Stupid TPMS thingies!

More later.

June 13th because couldn’t think of a good title.

  1. As you can see from the picture below, I installed my new bumper, with help. No, not Erin. Henry helped.
  2. The bumper makes the front end look tougher. Cost just a few dollars more than the hitch receiver I needed to by for the snow plow.
  3. Erin spent a bunch of time with me outside today.
  4. Rambo is back in town. I need to reinforce his perma ban from the store. Thieving bastard. I wish he was killed in prison.
  5. Tori got a new camera yesterday. Expect more pictures on the net.
  6. Nina took her ugly boot off last night. Not sure why.
  7. Erin and I went to Diane’s yesterday. They had a great time together. Diane’s house is like a hobbit house with tons of little trinkets all around. They walked and talked for an hour. Anyone want to buy her house? It’s for sale.
Peace out.

My Birthday Stats

  • I went to breakfast with Dennis.
  • I turned 59 yesterday.
  • Chased Erin in the morning.
  • Lunch with Nina in Pecos.
  • Dinner with Nina in Vegas.
  • Ice cream with Erin in Pecos.
  • Toilets backed up and flooded the store, again.
  • Called 4 septic people to find one that could come tomorrow.
  • I have a system cheat that I use to free up the problem until the septic people get here. It involves a modified sewer cap, an air compressor, and an air hose.
  • Erin got her little butt in trouble with Tori between dinner and ice cream.
  • I still took her to DQ. My birthday treat to her, so tough.
  • Nina meets with Vida about ML this afternoon. Euthanasia anyone?
  • Set up a meeting with the gas construction company for next week.
  • Went for a little 4×4 ride along the RR tracks. Found that it’s been closed down to traffic on the service road. I managed in the Jeep ok until I came across serious erosion.

What a pain.

Gas pumps were acting up again. Stupid network errors.

Happy Birthday to me.

Another fire nearby. It’s in the wilderness area and can’t be reached.

Erin and I are doing something special tonight. Secret!

Dennis stopped by yesterday. Chatted a bit.

Forests around the state are closing and fines are associated to no obeying.

I need to adjust the laser on my new gun. It’s off of the aim point.

Installed the sliders on my Jeep yesterday. Easiest install of a mod ever! Remove 6 body bolts and install the sliders and tighten the bolts back up. Done.

Fixed the downed barbed wire that Erin tripped over yesterday. One strand is still down, it’s too short to repair. Need to find a piece that I can patch in on that strand.

Udder Tings

  • I didn’t get my sliders installed yesterday.
  • Went to the Apple store and saw my next computer. It’s a large screen desktop that is very very fast. Next as in way way down the road.
  • Lunch at the Elephant Bar. I had the Korean tacos. Nina has a salad.
  • BIG delay going home. A camper self-destructed on I-25. It was all over the highway. Wind is not your friend when towing without the needed equipment.
  • Erin is home. Yay.
  • While in ABQ, I stopped at Sportsman’s Warehouse. I saw a cooler selling for $700! It was at least a 3 body cooler. Even the smallest cooler was a $200 item, in that brand line.
  • Bought a holster. Ammo is still scarce, but I’m seeing some conventional stuff out there lately, but not much.
  • Poker on Thursday. May or may not attend.
  • For those keeping track, we did not go east this week as planned. Extenuating circumstances.
  • Had to glue more tiles to the counter face again. The crap adhesive that was used will have me replacing all of them eventually.
  • I broke Erin last night. She tripped over some barbed wire that someone cut on one of my fences.
  • OK, dat’s it.
