Christmas Eve Eve?

Tomorrow is the soup party. Wednesday is just another day for us. Erin will be with the Herns, running the show, being spoiled by Roger who funds the folly called life in Dilia. Since we don’t celebrate Christmas on the 25th, it’s only right that they have her for the day.

Snow?

Should be gone by the end of the day. After the snow yesterday, the sun came out and the entire valley radiated white. It was almost blinding. Nina and I were watching the  sun reveal the valley from Arrow’s Ridge B & B during the Christmas Brunch they hosted there. What a great day spent there. Arrow’s Ridge is closed for the rest of the year, at least to guests. Joe is taking a break after a busy fall to spent time with loved ones. January will see the guests return and events will again happen.

Suze? is doing a great job as chef and all she needs now to make her the perfect chef is NEW TIRES FOR HER CAR! Sorry but it had to be said.

Dogs

As Whiskey ages we’re kinda leaning towards a no dog house for a while, but Jenna stopping by with her Belgium Shepard yesterday made me question whether that will happen or not. I saw that dog and wanted him. (See yesterday’s posting for a picture of the dog!) The ownership of a dog is a responsibility that I take seriously. We take great care in choosing any dog knowing that we’re making a commitment for the life of this animal. Having a dog does complicate international travel since we can’t take them with, but in country travel is fine. There’s plenty of hotels that are pet friendly and then of course there’s camping.

Jeep

I’ve owned this vehicle since March. This past week I rolled 35,000 miles on the odometer. I think this is my heaviest driving year since moving out here. I’m really enjoying the Rubicon model of the Wrangler and I recommend it frequently to those looking for an SUV or 4X4 if they don’t need a large cargo area. It’s not a luxury vehicle, but it’s a fun ride to own.

Business

Business this month is way down, but the holiday travel season should help somewhat. The last two days are reminiscent of summer days. Just a guestimate has the daily totals at 3X last weeks daily totals. Gotta love it.

The New Mexico State Seal

The government is now going to study who can use the Zia, the state symbol. Since it is also a religious symbol for the Zia Pueblo, they have been invited to the discussion. I have the feeling that they’re gonna start a shitstorm wit the businesses that have used it for years as part of their NM presence. You take something that was freely sued for years as a symbol of pride in your business location and then tell people they can’t use it? I don’t see this ending well.Go ahead, drool over it. You know you want to!

Today I will live in the moment, unless the moment becomes unpleasant, in which case I’ll take a nap.

Erin and the Herns.

Well, as predicted we picked up Erin at the Hern’s today. We learned some interesting things there while doing so. They admitted that Erin rules the roost, something that I already knew, and they assumed that it was the same way at our home.  After all, “she’s the only grand baby and she can do whatever she wants” and while we may get lucky with Andy & Debra, Erin is all that they will have. Sad people.

Erin jumped into Will’s arms to give him a kiss goodbye and managed to kick him in the nuts very hard. Watching the look on her face, I became pretty well convinced that it was deliberate. She showed no remorse and here eyes were gleaming with joy. She knows better than to do this with me/us.

Snow!

We had snow. I plowed snow.  I plowed snow here and at Arrow’s Ridge this morning. I managed to finish by 8:00 a.m.

The nice thing about being a valued customer.

Last time I went for an oil change I waited 2 hours. Two hours for a 15 minute job. Today I went to the tech and told him that I was there and he promised to get my Jeep in as soon as he finished his current service.  In and out in 20 minutes!

Another customer complained about the fact that I got special treatment and I told him that when he’s bought 7 cars from the same dealership he too could get special treatment. The salesman I was talking to walked away trying not to laugh out loud. The complainer was not happy with my answer, but since I too am a customer, it didn’t matter much to me.

Lithia Jeep also sells Chrysler and Dodge type vehicles, so talk to Marc Golan and tell him Glen sent you and that unless he wanted me in there to negotiate for you he better give you a great deal!

Another Friday, another stranded motorist.

  • This morning brought me a motorist stranded on the frontage road. Nice enough guy, a Mexican national, so I towed him into the parking lot to wait for the tow truck.
  • I’m assuming he’s a drug mule. He’s wearing more money than I have on hand for the business. He’s also armed.
  • So you may wonder why I helped him with the above mentioned assumptions? I try to help everyone that I can, with the exception of assholes and morons. If this guy is who or what I assume, he will remember my kindness and pass it on to the other people in their network and I will be left alone or they will patronize my business.
  • Oh yeah, I did call the cops and suggested that an officer swing by to scope him out and grab a cuppa coffee. If they make the same determination that I did, they will act accordingly and remove him from society.
  • Duck Dynasty, ever watch it? I have never seen anything about that show other than the commercials, until yesterday. Oh the shit storm that moron has raised on FB. I got involved in one FB argument about the comments and as always I tended to side with the free speech train of thought. Today I find that the show is a put up and these redneck morons used to be yuppies that made duck calls and changed their lives to the whims of A & E to reap in millions of dinero. Google the show title and yuppies for some good reads and you tube has at least one good posting, profane as it is.
  • The NM state supremes legalized gay marriage. Needless to say ML, our resident anti-gay crusader, had a few choice words to say about the issue. I shut her up by asking if she was afraid that they’d force her to marry another woman. She has never had to deal with curveballs before and it’s fun to watch her try to figure out where I’m going with them when I pitch them out.
  • It’s like training a puppy. She states something hateful and I hit her with pure logic in a left field sorta way and she shuts up. She’s already learning that words have consequences in my presence and we hear less hate daily.
  • I should try a rolled up newspaper just to see the shocked look on her face.
  • Wow, I think this holiday period will be a travel nightmare. The weatherliars are all preaching doom and gloom for the weekend and beyond. BUY A JEEP!
  • Sorry, I’m so brand loyal.
  • Speaking of loyalty, I switched gas distributors recently. I’m a loyal customer, but I still price shop my distributors on a regular basis. the last two loads of gas have saved me almost $1000. That is significant in our lives.
  • Obama is a lying sack of nasty wet fecal material.  Just saying, in case you forgot.
  • Christmas bonuses were paid today. Ho Ho Ho and all that ca ca.

Chris Christie is a bully?

In the news this morning I hear that the Dems are calling Christie a bully for some “alleged stunt” involving a bridge. Bridge-gate was used several times in the report. My question is, can we now safely call Obama a bully? He’s acts more like a dictator than any other president in history and he’s untouchable by the press and the public? What a piece of shit.
