Yeah, I did it. There was a ride for breast cancer from the dealership and while I wore a pink scarf of Nina’s for the event, they forced my into wearing the tutu for the ride. I have to admit, it made my ass look great!

Debby lead the ride and I ran shotgun for her with Tom Johnson riding sweep. It was about a 50 mile run and we pulled into Madrid around 12:45. Now this was the town that they filmed Wild Hogs and people always look when 45 motorcycles come into town in formation and when they notice that the lead is being lead by a pretty petite woman, the cell phone pics start happening.

When the pictures start filtering in from attendees that contribute to the newsletter, I’ll post a few.

I saw this on FB this morning and I remember saying that  same thing. I guess we change with the times and still remain the same.

Yesterday I did the Road Captain’s pre-ride to Mountainair with some friends and we will repeat the trip on Sunday with the Chapter. Nina will join us and I hope that the weather is better than it was yesterday. Rain threatened, but rare drizzle occurred. On the way home I thought I had enough fuel to make the trip, but strong headwinds had a different plan for me. I ended up bypassing my planned turn north and heading to Vaughn to get to the closest fuel. I checked on my GPS and that station wasn’t even listed. Lesson; Don’t trust your GPS when you have different knowledge.

While heading home I received a call from the D.A. and I spent a half an hour on the side of the road discussing their pending plea agreement. I’m not happy with it, but it will bring closure to this sad event. He will plead guilty to 3 counts of aggravated assault and 1 count of auto theft, which can net him a total of 6 years, BUT the defense attorney wants to send him to a in house treatment facility called Delancey Street for substance abuse treatment. If he walks away from there, he will end up in jail for the remainder of his sentence. Delancey Street (D.S.) is a 2 year program that houses their “patients” in a semi-secured facility. Of course if he does walk away from there, he has to be caught to serve the remainder of his sentence.

The D.A. also said that he’d request a no contact order for Romero and that would protect us from him. Of course that caused me to laugh at the insanity of that statement. I did not tell him that I got a CCW permit since this puke interfered into our lives and Nina, Tori and Andy will be encouraged to do the same. Both Nina and I believe that he will walk away from D.S. and seek retribution. Hopefully the store will sell and we’ll become harder for him to find.

Romero was evaluated by a shrink and I was read parts of the report. It contained a double helping of bullshit and I told the D.A. about the discrepancies, but he stated there was nothing he could do about that and the judge would take the report seriously during the plea hearing.

After that call I was chilled and found a place to warm up a bit before continuing my ride home. It was a long biking day for me. By the time I got home, the temperature had dropped to the high 40s and my legs were shaking. I was exhausted when I finally settled into my recliner.

Rain today?  Doesn’t look like it. Blue skies are the order of the day.

This morning I was out at 6:15 driving in circles on my tractor. The lot took a beating this bout of rain and it took me about 90 minutes to make it nice again.

I’m gone.

It started Saturday and it’s supposed to continue until Friday. I thought this was a desert state. There’s a of muddy water running from my parking lot to the street. Until it stops, I can see no reason to repair my lot, it’ll just happen again with new material to carry to the street. I ended up riding in it both to and from Santa Fe on Saturday. There was a fund raising event at the Harley store for the valley and I felt I should be there and I felt I should have my bike so I could participate in the rodeo.

We’ll she’s lost her two from teeth. With those gone she’s taken an Appalachian look about her.

Nina and I picked her up yesterday. Tori didn’t want to see or talk to Will. I could tell you all about the issues they have but you’d just quit reading after the 5th or 6th paragraph.

By January I’m sure to add to this list.

. . . but I’m glad I did. It was a local event at the Santa Fe store. A rodeo to help make el Valle kids’ Christmas a nicer day. A lot of people recognized me and thanked me for coming to the event. They were not aware that I was planning to be there anyway for the monthly chapter meeting.
