HOG Meeting

My first member meeting @ Tesuque Village Market. 20 members attended the meeting and we had a great time at breakfast and had a 15 minute meeting afterwards. The focus of our chapter under my direction will be riding, very short meetings, and having a good time with like minded people.

We had to split into 2 groups, but this pic is the largest of the 2 groups.
I’m in the middle of the back row.

I called Nan last night and terminated our friendship.

Yes, it has finally become too much of a burden to keep her as a friend. First off, Lou, her father, stopped by for a visit unannounced  and stayed for 4 hours. Four depressing hours. He’s a very lonely sad man. The visit left us feeling  depressed. Then I get a call from Nan’s cousin Terry. Lou told him that if he’s driving to Denver, he has to stop and visit us since he’ll drive right by our store! WTF?! Terry spent 2 hours with us and that prompted the termination.

I just can’t have her family just visiting us without barely a warning. I mean what if a visit from Terry would cause us to move to avoid the visit? Right? I’d need at least a months notice.

The visit went fine. He arrived after we closed and I kicked him out, Beth style, just before 10. We relived old adventures and talked of families. He doesn’t look too bad, but he’s bald. I hear that happens to people our age, but other than some thinning I can’t see, unless its in a picture taken from the rear, I’m doing pretty good on the hair thing.

I learned some interesting things about Lou from Terry. I’ll spare you all the details, but if you really want to find out, call Nina and ask her. She never could keep a secret.

I am thinking of having Carl drop by Nan & Pat’s house on occasion to teach her a lesson on boundaries. Maybe Carl & Keith can tag team her.

Oh well, peace.

Updates

Well, our pump is up and running again. It took about 4 hours of work for the D&H tech to set it upright and secure it down again. He wouldn’t have been able to do so without my tools and parts and I question the fact that he didn’t have some very simple tools or parts.

Just because it’s up and running doesn’t mean it’s fixed. The mounting frame is bent and needs replacing. The boot (nozzle holder) will need to be replaced also. They already replaced the broken nozzle.

I have a plan to limit any future damage to my pumps by moving vehicles. Plans include signs telling trucks that we don’t sell diesel, 4 55 gallon drums placed at corners to move drivers away from the pumps, and stickers warning people that they will be held responsible for any damages. The 55 gallon drums will be filled with gravel and then capped with concrete that will be domed to allow water to run off and prevent idiots from placing garbage on top of them.

After the power outage there was no issues with equipment and that was a great surprise. In the past, we always had to jump through hoops to get it all up and running again. Looks like our upgrades are proving to be worth the efforts.

Peas.

One of those days? Weeks Maybe?

Yesterday evening, while I was in Santa Fe, someone hit one of the gas pumps. Andy caught the guy. He wants to pay cash to have it fixed. Good? Bad? don’t know yet. Damage is not much really, but we’re 50% out of service.

Next fun thing. I’ve been awake now for an hour because the building alarm and other alerts have me up and about. Why? No power. I was on hold with the electric company for 45 minutes and they’re dispatching someone out to our area to find out the problem.

Laptop on battery and using the cell phone to post this update.

February 1, 2017. Welcome!

Another winter month behind us and it ended on a warmer note than it promised. The last 2 days saw me on short rides on the Harley and they felt great! Today, I ride to Old Fartz and I am looking forward to seeing who else rides in to SF today.

Politics?

So, we have a nomination to the supreme court announced yesterday. What a surprise, the left is livid!

I’m starting to think that the above meme is truth. They take media created issues and run with them as gospel to justify their hatred and rioting. The party of acceptance is definitely not willing to accept anything that is Republican. If the right had expressed their disdain for obama in the same way, the left would have been epileptic in their rage. Troops would have been called out, counter riots would have been media blessed, and the cries of racism would have been frantic. We’ve just watched their behaviors and let the cops deal with the low life shit called democrats. It’s strange to me that the right is the party of acceptance. For years I’ve heard the left call us haters, but it turns out that they are the haters.

Sure Trump’s an ass, but obama was an idiot and a traitor and a race baiter, so having an ass as a president is a pleasant change to obama, right?

Just for the record, I believe the wall is a stupid idea. The illegals will go under it, over it through it or just avoid it. Hell, if they can afford the cost of an airline ticket, they can just fly in to the country. No wall, fence, or barrier has even slowed the Mexicans down if they want in, so how will this new wall be different.

Just my 2¢ people. Peace.
