Friday

Our house is quiet. Erin is in Dilia, Tori’s not here yet, Nina’s still in bed, no calls from downstairs yet, and it appears that it’s a beautiful day. I wonder when the shit will hit the fan.

Busy day yesterday. Had to buy a new tire for my garbage scow @ $130. Duran had no ‘good used’ tires, so I had to go new. While Duran was mounting the new tire, I finally got my flu shot, picked up some hydraulic oil for  the tractor and had lunch with Nina. Once I had the tire back, I had to put it on the trailer and hook the trailer back up to the truck since Patrick can do simple shit like that. Dumbass.

Las Vegas Diesel also came out yesterday and started the tractor for me. It turns out the points in the distributor weren’t opening. If they don’t open, there be no spark, no spark, no go. Ernie brought the elder Gold with him and it was great seeing Louie again. He’s a heck of a mechanic for old rides like my tractor. I cranked it and he knew what it was immediately. We used to see him and his wife at breakfast on Sundays but she died a few months back and now he’s never at the restaurant. Ernie said he’s getting back into working on the older stuff they get in and as busy as they are, it’s a good thing.

I’ve been using Las Vegas Diesel almost since I moved out here. They remind me a lot of the Kooy family, family run and honest as the day is long. Kooys were father and 2 sons, and the Golds are father and 3 sons. I’ve always been comfortable dealing with them.

Nina and I have a Sunday ride to go one. Lithia, our Jeep source, is sponsoring the ride and it was mentioned at the Old Fartz lunch. They’re expecting about 50 riders and are providing lunch and t-shirts to the first 50 there.

Sex is like air. It’s not that important unless you aren’t getting any.
