Glad to be home

  • All the shit we’re moving here arrives on Monday.
  • Yes I said shit. I meant to say shit.
  • We’re moving 18,000 pounds of shit to NM.
  • OK, no more shit talk.
  • Tuesday’s drive was fairly normal other than the snow we had to drive through in Illinois.
  • Wednesday was fairly nice in the driving part of the agenda, but the health part of the trip was P.P.P. I’ve been very congested lately and have been using Afrin to breath. Feeling myself getting congested yesterday I made a very poor decision and did a pre-emptive spray so I could continue to breath. Bad move. Every breath was an experience in pain.
  • This caused a headache, which caused me to be bitchy to Nina. I suck when I’m bitchy. Sorry Nina.
  • Pictures. Nina insisted that we bring two large boxes of pictures in the Jeep with us rather than putting them in the moving van.
  • This cause me to have to fold down the seats in the back or lose all rear vision out of the rear window. My seat wouldn’t slide all the way back so I was getting more back pain than normal.
  • When we got home I was miserable.
  • I need to stop driving to Chicago I think.
  • On the plus side, we had a nice stay in Miami, OK. Nice room at the Holiday Inn and a great meal at Montana Mike’s. We just ended the day relaxing and watching TV.
I’m sorry, but I think you’re confusing your right to say stupid shit with me not having the right to make fun of it.

Homeward Bound

Packed the Jeep this morning and will be heading out shortly. Not sure of our route just yet, but westward is a good bet. We’ll be back sometime Thursday if all goes well. Tori, tell the old bat when we’ll be back.

Condo is mostly empty. Should arrive in NM on Monday. That batty old broad has more crap than any person should be allowed to have.

Dat’s it for now. Check in later maybe.

Murphy’s Law is Working Overtime Here Today!

  • Got here and the elevator broke just as the movers got started.
  • Condo Ass. Pres. claimed that we’re in violation with this move.
  • Condo mgmt. company called and I straightened that out.
  • Climbed the stairs to the condo after stepping out for a moment and got to my floor and there’s an older guy with a walker coming down so I help him buy carrying the walker down for him and had to climb the 4 floors again.

Can’t wait to see what’s next.

EDIT: I may have the place sold already. Another tenant on this floor wants to pay $90K for this unit, no commission or fees. He’ll gut, renovate and flip the unit. Nina’s considering this offer seriously.

AGAIN WITH THE EDIT: Elevator is up and running again. Condo is emptying at a rapid rate. Realtor just left and we’re eating lunch now. Murphy must have left the building.

A perfect evening

Last night at the Kleyweg’s house we had a ball. Ed, Nan, Don, Sue , Nina, and myself had a ball together. It was the first time in years that we all were together and the insults and jibes flew.

Ed looks like the oldest of the bunch, but he said he’s fine with that when confronted with his senility. His son was there to, Ryan, and he was a handful. Cute kid but kinda active. Don, Nan, Nina, Sue and I all looked great but DAMN Ed, get a toupee.

Great night with old friends. It was very good.

My take on last night’s big game.

I didn’t watch it. I had no money on the game and I don’t care about overpaid, self-important, men playing games.

Today’s Agenda

  • In 5 minutes I get to wake my bride. Getting her up at 6 a.m. always brings a smile to my face.
  • Going to ML’s to meet the packing team and we will supervise their efforts.
  • Lunch locally in ML’s area, hopefully pizza.
  • Back to ML’s to finish the packing supervisory duties.
  • Head back to Mom’s and possibly clean up. ML’s condo is not the most sanitary place on the planet. Some 15 years of dust and other less than good stuff tends to stick to you when you’re there.
  • Dinner at the Kleyweg’s tonight. Norketts and Johnson will be there, I hope. Should be a fun night. Mom’s invited, but she declined.
  • Ed will bring his kid. Cute kid, but damn, a 5 year old at his age. Better him than me. Erin is 4 and spends a lot of time with us, but she goes home frequently and also is gone on the weekends.

Tomorrow’s Agenda

  • Movers come to empty the place. Should be a great stress off the building with that weight gone.
  • Once they’re gone we will survey what’s left and make a decision about the best way to handle that stuff.  Salvation Army will get a call and if they want any of it, they’ll be welcome, but otherwise it’s going with Waste Management at a later date.
  • Then shortly thereafter we need to list the dump.
